HOW DOES IT WORK?
Synthetic lashes are individually bonded to your own using a special adhesive. A full set typically consists of 55 - 60 lashes per eye.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
For a Full set (55-60 lashes per eye), they will look good for 3 - 4 weeks before requiring a refill appointment. By this time, you should have retained approximately half of the extensions you had from your original appointment. During a refill appointment, additional lashes are bonded to the natural lashes that don't have an extension on it. If you do not refill, the remaining extensions will continue to fall off randomly and will be completely gone by the end of 5 - 8 weeks.
With a Partial set (30-35 lpe) almost all of the lashes will have fallen off by 4 weeks due to fewer number of extensions being applied, Demi set (40-45 lpe) falls somewhere in between the Partial and the Full set.
WHAT CAUSES THE EXTENSIONS TO FALL OFF?
Your lashes, just like the hair on your head, goes through growth cycles. When one of your natural lash sheds, the extension will come off with it. Another reason is from wear and tear due to rubbing, or forceful handling of your extensions when removing eye makeup or when washing your face. As well, oily products will break down the bond of the adhesive, so avoid excessive eye makeup, mascara, and use an oil-free eye makeup remover.
DO THE EXTENSIONS FEEL HEAVY?
No. Unless you are going for the Superlush set, you will not be able to feel the extensions at all. They are almost weightless.
CAN I SWIM/ WEAR MAKEUP/ MASCARA/ CONTACT LENSES WHEN I HAVE THE LASH EXTENSIONS?
Yes, you can swim with the extensions and shower as usual. Salt water does not seem to have an effect on the extensions, however too much chlorine will. You can wear make-up and occasional mascara (see 'CARE SHEET'), and it is safe for contact lense wearers.
WHY DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE SO LONG?
Applying lash extensions properly is a painstaking process. Only one extension is applied to one of your lashes. We have built a great reputation on the cleanest, seamless bond. This means that you won't be able to see any visible glue or clumping. This also means comfort to you as you will never feel the extensions, and no damage to your lashes.
I SUFFER FROM ALOPECIA OF MY LASHES, CAN I STILL GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Unfortunately no. You need to have lashes for us to apply the extensions. The extensions and glue never come in contact with the skin.
THE PRETTY LASHES TECHNIQUE
With the Pretty Lashes technique, there is never any clumping or glue visibility. The bond is seamless and all the lashes completely free of each other. This is very important to ensure no damage occurs to your natural lash. Many of our clients have enjoyed wearing their extensions for a number of years without any harm to their own lashes. In fact, if you are someone who wears heavy mascara on a daily basis, you will see a definite improvement in the fullness and length of your natural lash within 4 - 6 months of having the lash extensions on.
