My client came to me after having her eyebrows tattooed 15 years ago at another studio. Over time, the pigment had faded, leaving behind a pink/mauve residue. She loved the look of hair-stroke brows and wanted to refresh her brows while covering up the old colour.
I explained that while we could achieve the hair-stroke effect she wanted, some shading would be necessary to help neutralize the pink tones. However, my main focus would be on creating nano strokes to maintain a natural look.

The procedure took about three hours, and she was comfortable throughout. Before she left, I provided detailed aftercare instructions and scheduled her follow-up appointment for two months later.
The Perfection Visit: Enhancing & Correcting Faded Brows
At her follow-up appointment—also known as the Perfection Visit—I assessed how her brows had healed. This step is essential to see how well the colour settled and how much pigment her skin retained.
In her case, the retention was fair. While some areas still needed more pigment, her brows were already a significant improvement from their original state.

This session took about 90 minutes, during which I used the same colour to darken the existing strokes and add more where needed. The healing process would be the same as after her initial procedure. Since covering old pink pigment can be challenging, there was a possibility that she might need a third session to fully neutralize the colour.
Options for Refreshing Faded Brow Tattoos
If your old eyebrow tattoo has faded to orange, pink, or purple, there are ways to adjust the colour while keeping a soft, natural look. Techniques like powder brows or nano strokes can help blend and correct unwanted tones, making daily brow maintenance easier.
Modern advancements in permanent makeup allow for better colour correction and a more natural result than older tattooing methods. If you're considering a refresh, it's helpful to consult with a professional to find the best approach for your skin and desired outcome.

Correcting and refreshing old eyebrow tattoos is a process that typically requires two, sometimes three sessions to achieve the best results. While it takes some patience, the trade-off is effortless, well-shaped brows that save you time and hassle every day. No more struggling to fill them in or worrying about uneven colour—just natural-looking brows that enhance your features.
